When I have two images attached to a thought and I mouse over the icon in the thought I only seem to be able to browse one of them.

Is there a way to switch between them?

Also to have them larger?

I know I can double-click them from the attachments pane to open in Preview but that breaks the workflow.

Thanks,

Matt

Not as far as I know, but you can force which one shows in the mouse-over preview by naming it so it appears first, alphanumerically speaking.

A workaround could be to paste the other image in the notes section. This way when you go to the thought you can see both "at the same time"

Click, not double-click.

You can drag an attachment to make it first in the list (or the first tab).

Yes, but he's talking about the mouse over preview. You can force which image is shown first by making sure alphanumerically it appears first.

Have you tried what I suggested?

I have a thought with two attached images. When I mouse over the thought, I see the first attachment in the list.
If I drag the second attachment to make it the first, then I see this attachment when I mouse over.
There's no indication that alphanumeric order is relevant in a list of attachments.

damn, you're right! Learned another thing, and a very useful one with that.

Thanks!

As for Matt's questions:
1. Is there a way to switch between them?
The only way that I know of viewing another attached image is by clicking on the attachment.
Perhaps there could be way of dragging the mouse along with a key combination to view the other images.

2. Also to have them larger?
The size of the previewed image depends, to some extent, on the size of the file and on the size of the Plex which, in turn, depends on the size of your TB9 window and the amount of that window that is being used by the Plex, taking into account the Report, Timeline and Notes/Attachments areas and the Selection area if you've selected multiple thoughts. The preview is never bigger than the Plex, regardless of the file size.
There's no setting that allows you to specify how large the preview will be.

Thanks. Pasting into the notes is an interesting idea. Somehow I am resistant to it because I want these things to have their own identity, although I am not sure that this actually matters if I am honest. But that's how I approach it.

I guess this kind of enhancement should have a reasonably low priority as there are ways around it, not least just using the attachments pane.

Thanks again.

Not sure what you are getting at here. Can you explain a little more?

Clicking them in the attachments pane displays them in place of the notes tab. But on my laptop screen that area generally isn't very big.

Clicking the attachments icon on the thought brings up the list on the attachments as a pop-up. But doesn't seem to offer a way to view the listed attachments. Clicking them here opens them in the system viewer, not in Brain.

Perhaps I misunderstand…

Cerebrum was correct that dragging the desired tab to being the "first in line" will update which image you'll see when you mouse over the Thought icon.  Also, if you have multiple images attached as individual tabs to a single Thought, you can click Alt+Tab (macOS) or CTRL+Q (Windows) to move to the next attachment tab in the content area. Great use of keyboard shortcuts.

Thanks,
Matt
