In one of the recent builds it seems to me as if something has changed about the dragging down to create a child behaviour.

Roughly 20% of the time now I find myself editing the parent instead.

I do not remember this being an issue before. Has anyone else experienced this?

I've attached a zip file containing a screen recording showing what I mean. For some reason attaching an MP4 video directly isn't allowed…?

Matt,

Wow, I see what you mean.  I have not yet been able to replicate this, but we'll continue testing - Thanks for posting!!

Poof!  Issue replicated.  On a Windows machine too!

Matt,

I believe I spoke too soon.  I recorded myself replicating this issue as well.  It only happens when I create the child Thought VERY quickly and it looks like I'm releasing the mouse trigger before I even drag a link.  So for me, it was more of a click than a click and drag.  Thus... proper behavior to open the Thought Properties Display on a click.

We are aware of one issue where macOS and Magnet Windows Manager are causing issues such as the one you have described.  Do you use Magnet?

Thank you,
Matt

I am pretty sure that, in my case, I am not simply clicking but am definitely dragging before releasing.

I am not familiar with Magnet but I do use Moom which sounds similar. That said Moom has to be triggered either via keyboard shortcut or the window zoom button so I'm not sure how it would be implicated in this Brain behaviour, in this tricky way.

I am experiencing the same thing on my MacBook Air (Early 2015) on High Sierra. I am using Magnet though, but I do not think that is related as the program was working relatively fine prior to the holidays, a recent update is most likely to blame.

Just to mention I have been doing a lot of work today adding thoughts and this bug is getting *really* annoying. It happens also creating parent relationships and I'm spending a lot of time backing out of editing the wrong thing. It really breaks the workflow.

Can I just re-raise this problem. It's still present in the latest RC and it is REALLY annoying.

Thanks Matt,

I've added Moom to be reviewed with the same Magnet issue.

I was struggling to see how Moom could be related so I quit Moom and attempted to reproduce the problem. I was able to do very quickly.
