Hi,
Is there a way to encrypt data when it is saved on the disk of my laptop? All thoughts and associated contents seem to be stored as plain texts under C:\Users\<User>\Brains\.

Without password protection like in Excel or Word, TheBrain can't really be used for serious work.

Thanks.

PB,

Thank you for posting.  This is documented as a feature request, but is not currently an option within TheBrain.  You can, however, store password protected files, zips or links to secure online storage sites.

Thank you,
Matt

If you're using Windows 10 (Pro, Enterprise, or Education version), you can encrypt the 'Brains' folder by right-clicking to get the 'Properties' dialog, and clicking 'Advanced' at the bottom of the 'General' tab. This will encrypt the contents so only that user can use them.
