It might be an idea to set up a new sub-forum "Localization" to discuss issues related to that. Like this one: it seems the dialog "Search Web" uses "MAINMENU_EDIT_TEXT" to get the text for the "Edit"-Button. But german is a bit more verbose than english, and so the result is not so pleasant.

BTW, this applies to all of the 3 german translations - they all use the same word and this is the only sensible (and "familiar") translation of that word in the context of software. So it would be great if you could redesign the dialog to provide more space.

Similar issue when editing the list of search-engines.  (More to follow later, but I now want to focus on the text again...)

PB-Editions-dialog (it seems the txt below with "Pro Edition" is also not localizeable)

Hint to all translators: "CLIPBOARD_PASTE_NOTES_LINK_TEXT" does not refer to "Notes" as plural for "Note", but to Lotus Notes!

Questions:
  1. the rows 104..138 contain some blank entries (i.e. MAINMENU_THOUGHT_CREATE_CHILD_DESCRIPTION) - what about these? Are they not yet or no longer used?
  2. what's the idea of row #2 ("REFERENCE") - anything the translators should take care of?

3) What about stopwords.txt? Shouldn't that be localized as well?
4) And is there a chance to get a german.dic from somewhere?

Thanks for all the feedback Michael. We'll setup a separate forum for translations. Great idea. To answer you question about the blank entries... the XXX_DESCRIPTION lines are the "hints" that appear when the user has moused over the corresponding XXX_TEXT line. If they are blank, then no mouse over hint appears.

Harlan,
how do you want the PB-Editions-dialogue translation provided? As Michael wrote, it does not seem to be editable.

Birgit
