Just when I thought I could safely order my update ...

I created a new brain called 'Master' and wanted to import some links to my other brains into this brain (by dragging and dropping with 'Link to'). After I dropped the link, TheBrain got stuck. I closed it. And after reopening it I got a completly empty plex (see pic). 'Statistics' says that the thoughts are still there. (Seven altogether, which I had created the 'normal' way, that is not by dragging and dropping.) 'Forgotten Thoughts' says..., but see for yourself:

Addendum:

The error is reproducible (at least on my system).
- Create a new brain.
- Try to create a new thought by importing a link to an existing brain.
- On my system TheBrain gets stuck.
- After reopening the plex is blank (even the home thought isn't shown).

This is only happening when you try to create a new thought, not when you drag a link onto an existing thought.

Hallo Reinhard

I'm trying to reproduce but : what do you mean by "dragging a link" "importing a link to an existing brain" ?

I never cross-reference my brains so I haven't used this feature.
The other brain icons on the menu bar aren't draggable to/from.

If you mean dragging from an OS (Win explorer window), then I can successfully :

create brainB
drag an existing brainA into brainB.
It creates a thought, which opens brainA

I've made a video (.mp4, please unzip) to demonstrate the process:

Rengel

That's exactly what I'm doing.
I confirm it works fine on my machine.

(PS :

try setting ref frames to 3 and enabling CABAC if you want higher video compression with AVC)

Format settings, CABAC                   : No
Format settings, ReFrames                : 1 frame

Enkidu,

how about Windows 8?

I've no idea what that means:

"try setting ref frames to 3 and enabling CABAC if you want higher video compression with AVC)

Format settings, CABAC                   : No
Format settings, ReFrames                : 1 frame"

I'm using SnagIt 11.0 to take the video and 7-zip to compress it. Never cared about any settings.

hallo

I don't have access to Windows8 machines.

(re: video :
I haven't used Snagit, but any application using AVC *should* provide a facility to change its basic settings. gives more efficient video compression than zip & similar
I was just proposing you a different set of settings to get better compression)

This appears to be a Windows 8 issue. I will report this as a bug. Thanks.
