I have two computers I use TB on.  It is usually open on both computers at all time.  When I come back to the computer I haven't been using for a while, after a day or so TB becomes non-responsive.

When I click on TB all I get is a system "ding".  The only thing I can do is open up task manager and kill the application.  When I reload TB it tells me it was shut down improperly and asks if I want to restart settings (or something like that)  It does not offer me the option to send in a crash report. This never happened with TB 9.x

Let me know if you need any other info to help tshoot this issue.

My info:
Both systems are Windows 10
TB Version 10.0.14

Just a quick update.  I've sent in several logs but haven't heard back for a quite a while.  The issue is still happening.  One suggestion was to check to make sure there were no open dialog boxes causing the system to act like it was frozen.  I've checked and double checked each time it freezes and there are no open dialog boxes.  Thanks!

The "ding" you hear indicates that there is most likely a dialog open somewhere waiting for a response. Possibly it is misplaced offscreen somewhere? Next time this happens, try pressing the "Esc" key or the "Enter" key and see if that takes care of it. If so that would confirm the theory at least.

Pressing escape worked. However, there is no dialog box waiting somewhere.  It would be visible doing an ALT+TAB and it is not. I've been in tech support for many years, so I know how you have to assume I'm missing it.  But I'm not.  It's not there.  So the app seems to be creating an invisible dialog box.  Thankfully ESC works to get out of it, but there is a problem there somewhere....  Thanks!

James,

Thanks for confirming the fix. We'll do our best to replicate this issue. I don't doubt you that some type of dialog when Alt Tabbing may have appeared. You can even create one by clicking on Help > About TheBrain. When you then press Alt+Tab, both windows are in the same option.  The trick will be to get the about window BEHIND the main application window.

Thank you,
Matt
