I would like to export my Brain to HTML and completely integrate it into my website http://www.doebler-online.de. So, no problems to manage the export. And I was rather successful in editing the brain css files - layout: <center> <width:800px> But I was not able to edit the dynamic line between the brain area (plex?) and the note area. Any suggestions?

Thanks from Braunschweig/Germany

jodoe,

What do you mean by "edit the line"?  Do you want to change the height of the plex?  Take a look at the PlexBar and PlexDiv settings.  These are also on the layout.css file.

Thank you,
Matt

Sorry Matt,

I refer to the "splitter" betwwen the "plex" and the "notes" - it remains <align: left>, can't get it into my layout <center><width: 800px>.

Thanks for your response
Joachim

P.S.: It would be very helpful, to publish a short manual "How to edit my personal site brain?" with the relevant layout.css files and its essential format definitions.

Joachim,

Please send me a link to your online SiteBrain.  I'd be happy to take a look.

Also, we have a very helpful SiteBrain tutorial located at:
http://www.thebrain.com/site/about/events/pb202_sitebrain_publishing/default.html

It demonstrates many of the basic post SiteBrain creation modifications.

Thank you,
Matt

Hi Matt,

thanks for assistance but the tutorial does not solve my problem: putting my Brain including "Splitter" and "Notes" right in the middle of my webpage. But it is possible (!) as you might see when visiting the URL http://home.planet.nl/~adathome/#-6 ! Do they use a different Brain version? Or what is their sweet secret? Anything else (editing the CSS specifications) is fine.

Kind regards, Joachim

Is this what your looking for.

change in file settings.js   "true" => "false"

 / resizing settings
var resizePlexEnabled = false;
var splitterHeight = 4;
var splitterBackgroundColor = "#00f";
var splitterEdgesColor = "#000";

When you use the BETA version PB 4.2.1.1
your site is even better with a quick search functionality and export of your thought-type-colors

Joachim, some more tips for you:
- use thought-types for categorization of your brain with different thought-type colors it make more sense for the relations between thoughts
- start with a pin "Help", where you can introduce your brain
- in setting.js, // pins,  change showpinsmenu false --> true so visitors can make there own pins for the time they are visit your brain.

Look at my site http://home.planet.nl/~adathome i have changed some things

Great!  I finally found a couple of SiteBrain users here. I would like to link to more of you who are using SiteBrain.

May I share my site here: http://www.branam.com/

I've managed to carry over some style aspects to my desktop Brain. I have basically a redundant or alternate flat HTML site with a switch to turn the Plex On or Off.

I sure wish I could automatically carry over my Icons.

For my desktop, I have ambitions to use it for live presentation and seminars. Of course, it will be a challenge to the audience to follow a non-linear topic flow. whadayathink?

nice job on your site-thanks for the link

as for your "whaddyathink" regarding presentations and seminars --
it is more of a challenge to the learner to follow a linear topic flow when it isn't theirs....
rarely do people read a map the same way,
nor do they utilize directions the same way we give them

using the brain allows me the choice to move around the content
as learners grasp and dialogue in ways that make sense to them,
my job is to help them gain expertise, not show them mine

the brain is a great program for creating learning experiences

Kenan,
I just looked at your sitebrain and must say I'm really impressed!
Since I am planning to realize a blog using sitebrain, could you please answer a few questions?
- How did you implement the "Search" button within the plex? Does the result page really search within the brain? I'd love to learn more about this
- How did you include all the style elements in your content (e.g. the three columns, the links etc.) Is this done manually or did you change the stylesheet of your exportet brain?

I have a sitebrain that is need of repair and updating;  I've been postponing getting PB5, because I cannot get a working copy of the release notes.  Adobe Reader calls the PDF files for PB5 defective,  although it has no problem with any other PDFs. I'd like to check the features before buying.

Anyway, the current version of my sitebrain is at http://floatingworldweb.com.
