PB 5.5.1.9 on Windows
J-1.6.0_12

I recently updated PB from 5.0 to the 5.5 first release.
My brain had 2.04 link per thought in 5.0
After the update, statistic gave me 1.3 link per thought. The number of links decreased after the update but the number of thought remained the same.

Having a look to the brain I have not the impression that links are missing but since I have a total of 2447 thought it is difficult to check it out. However it is unlikely that I missed half of the link and I do not realize.
Is there an explication?

Antonio,

Interesting.  We haven't had any other reports of this type of behavior.  I have a feeling the Statistic information was either wrong before, or wrong now.  We've done quite a bit of testing and an upgrade should NOT delete any data from your Brain.  So your actual links should all still be there.

Do you have a brainzip of the original 5.0 version?  We'd like to take a look to see if we can duplicate/locate the error.  If so, please send to support@thebrain.com.

Thank you,
Matt

I think this might be caused by the changes in version 5511. When I upgraded from 5510 to 5511, "Links per Thought" decreased from 1.5 to 1.3.

From the release notes of version 5.5.1.1:

o    Fixes:

§  Thoughts: Thought Types, Events and Forgotten Thoughts are excluded

§  Links: Link Types and Links involving Thought Types are excluded, Links to forgotten Thoughts and events are excluded

§  Notes: Events and Forgotten Thoughts are excluded

§  Attachments: Attachments of forgotten Thoughts and types are excluded

§  Thought types: Events are excluded

o    Tags and Events lines added

Thanks Dryopithecus for your answer it reassure me.

Thanks for the quick reply Matt. Unfortunately, I cannot send out the brain, I use it for my work and contain sensitive informations for which I am not propietary.

In regard to the release note 5.5.1.1, this means that thought type were considered as thought in the calculation of the number of links?

Yes.

Thought types are stored as thoughts, and since 5.5, events are now also stored as thoughts.

When assigning a thought type/event to a thought, PB creates a link from the thought to the thought type/event. Before 5511, these links were also included in the Statistics.
