It seems like scrolling a list of many thoughts in Instant Activate makes PB slow. This process seems to use a lot of memory.

Yep.  I'm having a similar experience.  But I'm also experiencing a slow down (because of memory use) in other applications such as FireFox.

jostber,

When do you see the 'slowness?'  When you are scrolling thought the list?  Do things speed up after you've made a selection and the list is gone?

Thank you,
Matt

I tried using 4 search terms that each give about 100 results in Instant Search and could not detect any slow-down on scrolling Instant Search Results. So could this be a Linux-related problem?

Hi, the slowness happens when scrolling through the list, and especially if the search returns many hits. This makes PB partially hang for a while. It seems like it's the scrolling and not the selection that uses a lot of resources.

It could be a DISPLAY ICON issue.

I've seen slow scrolling in Instant Activate--- and noticed that most of the time, the little icon boxs are showing the "spinning" load icon--- or most are just empty. If I wait and let the icons load up, it gets a LOT faster. In fact, it gets normal fast most of the time.

Interesting. I don't deliberately use icons, preferring to type my Thoughts by color where possible. The only icons are those of file attachments. Maybe that's why I don't notice a slowdown. jostber, perhaps you could create a test brain with 100 thoughts but no icons and try that out?
