I know this is an older thread but the video relates to a question I asked yesterday in the How To section of the forums--was thinking either/both of you might know the answer as you appear to be pretty active in the forums.

Here is my question:

Does anyone have a link to a webinar where someone is using the thought, tag and (particularly) link types to provide contextual/semantic relations between thoughts rather than relying exclusively/primarily on the parent-child-jump structure?  I'm not looking for one of TheBrain training videos but rather an actual use case/"big thinker".

I seem to recall there was at least one example but I haven't been able to locate the video.

Any help is appreciated!
Image Capture not working with High Sierra and Safari (#4344 - fixed)
Hi Sean--not sure if this is the same issue, but on my Mac OS 10.11.6, my Capture Image menu item is greyed out.  I'm on the brain .220.

Should I install the latest version and if so, can you please send me the link?  Cheers.
Webinar with heavy thought type, tag and link type usage
Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have a link to a webinar where someone is using the thought, tag and (particularly) link types to provide contextual/semantic relations between thoughts rather than relying exclusively/primarily on the parent-child-jump structure?  I'm not looking for one of TheBrain training videos but rather an actual use case/"big thinker".

I seem to recall there was at least one example but I haven't been able to locate the video.

Any help is appreciated!
TheBrain Development Update
Hi Patrick,

I think the reason we keep asking about release dates for next versions is that the primary reason some of us are paying for The Brain Pro Combo was for the updates to the latest major version.  Speaking for myself, the cloud services are of minor value and certainly not worth the $300+ I've paid for it over the last two years.

The software is excellent but knowing what I know now, there is no way I would have bought the pro combo.  I'll just wait out this last year and hope that the new version is released before my sub runs out.  If not, unfortunately, the loss of goodwill toward The Brain will likely mean I stop using it.

Cheers,
Brad
TheBrain Development Update
At least from my perspective, it's not so much excitement but rather hopeful expectation that I will get some value for the nearly $500 USD I've spent over the last two years on a product that has changed very little.  When I bought the pro-combo, I fully expected (which I now realise was my mistake) that we would receive regular updates with at least one major.

Limited word from product management on upcoming releases, despite many requests from what are pretty obviously serious users of the product, could be taken as a lack of concern for your customers.  I used to recommend TheBrain to nearly everyone in my circles, both professional and personal.  I just can't in good conscience do that now.

Thanks Heinrich.  Really just looking for some guidance from product managers as to where they are taking things and approximate timeframes.  Seems like I bought my pro-combo at exactly the wrong time as will have spent nearly $500 over two years with almost no change in the product.  Disappointed certainly, but hopeful for a major update before my sub runs out next year.

Hi,

Any updates on the next major release in terms of features, timing, etc?  I'm in the process of deciding if I continue to expand my current brains or start evaluating other products/solutions.  I'm in my second year of the pro-combo and haven't seen any noteworthy changes worth the price. Really hoping a major release is coming soon but can't find any recent updates.

Cheers,
Brad

@GerSch: likewise.

That would be great Patrick.

Default Link Arrow Direction
Hi Patrick.  I've tried your suggestion but I can't seem to remove the link name from the link.  I've tried by both editing an existing link type to include spaces (leading space as well as space between words).  I've also tried with new link types with same result.

To illustrate what I've done:
was:                     linktype
with space "^":      ^linktype
or                         link^type

cheers,
Brad
Default Link Arrow Direction
Thanks, that really helps!

Is it possible to exclude the linktype name from the link such that only the line formatting and the arrow direction are visible?  Leaving the label field blank doesn't prevent the linktype name from showing on the link.

Cheers,
Brad
Default Link Arrow Direction
Hi,

My links almost always have an arrow in a certain direction.  Is it possible to have a new link default to the arrow rather than the current directionless link?

Example:
Current:  sibling ---- sibling
Would like: sibling ---> sibling

Cheers,
Brad
