Copy 18000 Thoughts into a new brain - Performance?
Hello,

I copied 18000 thoughts into a new brain.

Adding link 4346 of 18558 and this message get frozen.

What does it mean, how long must I wait?
(All 8 cpu's are busy around 80%)

My expectation would be similar like the report + 10 Seconds.

Install PB7 on Xperia Ultra Z?
Hello,

Sony Xperia ultra Z with an Quadcore 2.3 GHrz and pen-navigation, will give a very nice "mobile-tablet", so I will look forward to use all established PB7 desktop-features also mobile on a big phone.
(Very nice would be, if the image and sketch-abilities of web-page snippets will be integrated)

html export --> Android, working!
Hi,
if you hover over the thoughts you will see the attached zoomable pictures too?

Are the tags working?

Greetings,

P.S. If so it will be one possibility how the children present the "digital homework's" at school, which should be offline ;-)
Commandline for a new Thought incl. Tag & Link-Type?

(I use actual the Mac Airbook)

How I can reach that a mind map will open as an mind map if I click on the thought attachment, which is an Free-Mind file?

Search and Replace parts of an Thought
Hello,

I selected all Thoughts which begin with the word1:

in the selection box
word1 bla
word1 blabla
word1 blablabla
word1 blablablabla

How I can search for word1 in this selection area and replace it e.g. for nothing.

The result woud be changed thoughts:
bla
blabla
blablabla
blablablabla

Greetings,

P.S. Or would it possible to define a thought in free-mind T1 + Type word1 and after the free-mind import into PB the thought T1 as the type word1?

Commandline for a new Thought incl. Tag & Link-Type?
Hallo enkidu,

I mean I generate a new thought T1
1. F6
2. type T1 + Tag cool
Result: T1 with the Tag cool

I generate another new Thought T2
1. F7
2. type T2 + Type keyword
Result: T2 with the type keyword

I generate
another new Thought T3
1. F9
2. type T3 + Link follow up
Result: T3 get linked as a sibling with the link-type follow up

I generate another new Thought T4
1. F9
2. type T4 + Tag cool Type Good Idea Link follow up
Result: T4 get linked as a sibling with the link-type follow up, the Tag cool and the Type Good Idea

Sure...
The tag cool would be defined as a tag before.
The types keyword and Good Idea
would be defined as a tag before.
The link-type follow up
would be defined as a tag before.

Can I reach something like this, because I'm much faster in typing than in clicking around.

Commandline for a new Thought incl. Tag & Link-Type?
Hello,

How I can use some command-line input to define:

  • a new thought T1
  • with the type Y1
  • an with the tag A1
  • and the link-type L1?
This would speed up my digitalization process, because I'm much faster in typing as in clicking around...

"Cloud" for the Author?
Hi Glenn,

I would agree that any presentation will focus on some specific messages or patterns. E.g. if you discuss Columbus for a better understanding some links / excursus to Leif Ericson and Vasco da Gama are helpful, but always you need to come back to the main-topic (...via Pin-Thoughts after 2 minutes).
So they show many similar patterns, but the main strategies are different.

I assume that for the most audience the sizing of icons and tag-texts are too tiny for many presentations.

Thanks for the insights in the praxis.

Greetings,

P.S. I found my workaround for my initial problem, that I wil use generic link-types book1..bookN for "cross-links", so I can still track the origin up to the author along the hierarchy.

"Cloud" for the Author?
Hi Glenn,

thanks for the practical insides.

I found some workaround to keep the ownership of informations.

  • Like discussed above I like the topological redundant-free approach, to put the author on the top of the hierarchy.
  • And if I run in the cross-link-case, I will use generic .book1...bookN link types to keep the ownership in all circumstances clear, but as simple as possible.

"Cloud" for the Author?
Hallo gpatten,

how much of the thought-types, tags, link-types are suitable for a bigger audience?

7 +/- 2 of each - George Miller-Magic Number?

Greetings,
"Cloud" for the Author?
Hallo gpatten,
Sounds great, my business-audience is quite conservative and is fixed on power-points and excel.

But for the first presentation at primary-school for my daughter we used PB7. To collect all kind of informations in a constructive question-orientated style, it was quite fine.
A big task was, for my daughter to find the red line. But we took three pins for the subtopics, so anyway she was able to catch up the main-road quite easy.

The funny thing was, that for the children all was very intuitive - only the teachers need some help from the audience to understand e.g. the tagging.
