Fonts look pixelated
Wohooowww... in the process of this post I investigated and here is the solution:

http://pureinfotech.com/2014/08/21/make-windows-desktop-apps-look-better-high-dpi-displays-blurry-fonts/

Disabling scaling with high dpi displays makes thebrain look georgous on my brandnew surface 3. With this combo a sientists dream comes true, for which I waited now a long time: Onenote, Drawboard and TheBrain, yes!

Thanks Patrick!
Best Regards
Olivier
Fonts look pixelated
Looks like this is especially a surface 3 issue. Also in installing dialogs the font inside the window (not on top) looks blurry....
Fonts look pixelated
Hi, thanks for your reply. I attach two images, both a crop of about 500x500 pixels from thebrain and explorer. Explorer looks very sharp, whereas thebrain is washed out with cleartype on and pixelated with cleartype off.
thanks for watching. Olivier explorer surface3.jpg  brain surface 3.jpg

Im using thebrain on a surface 3 and all fonts look so pixelated, even in the notes window. Can this be cured?

Thanks

Help: Brain freezes on a new win7 machine
Hi

I have a new computer here at work, win7 64-bit enterprise on a core i7-3687u. Brain 7.0.4.5 starts normally. When I open a existing brain or try to create a new one it shows the open ... dialog for ever.

I did a reinstall, opened as administrator. Nothing helps. This is starting to be a nightmare...

Thanks for your help.

Hi

Search works, but only very basically; you enter the first letter and are able to scroll in the search list. the following letters are not beeing accounted.

html export --> Android, working!
Hi

It took some time until I realized, that the html export function allows me to view brains on my galaxy s3 quite nicely. Heres is how to do that:

1. Export the brain in a SiteBrain HTML.
2. Adjust font size of plex in index.html and also font size of notes in notes.css (folder res) (you can do that with a text editor, I have 36)
2. Copy the folder to your phones sd card.
3. install boat browser
4. open index.html with e.g. es folder explorer - choose boat browser to open
5. In boat browser options go to labs / line wrap / turn off "adjust pages automatically" (I translated it from german maybe a little different)
6. activate fullscreen in boat browser, now it behaves like an app.
7. have fun.

Very nice: Websites from links in notes are shown right there. Must be nice on a hi-res tablet.

Now I'm looking forward to the coming android app a lot more relaxed.

Thanks for this very nice function of html export! Great.

Prezis in notes
Hi

It would be great to be able to run prezis directly in the notes. Maybe asked a lot, but nevertheless it would be very helpful.

Starting PB - want the best framework/structure, internal vs external documents, etc questions?
Hi

I have my brain on Dropbox, so I can access it from everywhere. There have been reports of database corruption if the connection drops while you are working with the brain. So I do incremental backups of my brain, keeping always the last 20. I never had a problem since one year now.

Greetings

I just found the app abby text grabber which is great for text ocr on the go. It would be so great to have a braindroid. Capture the text, share it with the brain. Thats a dream for a scientist reading lots of text.

So pleeeeease ;-)

Thanks for your reply. webbrain is too expensive for me and I can't upload sensitive information to the cloud. remote solution needs a computer always running - counteracts my energysaving intentions.
So I hope my sheeps will be jumping soon...

So the months are passing by again. Im sitting with the sgs3 and think oh it would be nice to crawl a little bit in my brain. look over some subjects, remember, learn. Not much would be needed, as a start: an app just with basic functionality. Somehow I have the impression that you may not be completely aware that there is a massive shift in ict usage towards mobile. Apps are not nice to have. Come on, is it really so hard to release a bata app? It already runs on linux... thanks!
