Concept maps and suggestions for links

For me, the suggested links feature should not be automatic. It would be to resources consuming. But it could a kind of data analysis that we start from time to time, or just after creating a lot of thoughts.

How the suggestions links could be created? I do not know, it is a little far away from my actual job. But I think we could go beyond searching for identical words in thoughts and attachments. Looking for meaning. A simple version of that would search words (like for example the word “rule”), derivations of forms (like, for “rule”, “rules” and “ruled”) and families of words (the word “rules” can be related to “policy”), kind of synonym search or even domain search.

It would add an extraordinary value to TheBrain if we could analyze our data and discover relations that we did not think of.

Keeping a brain offline
Thanks a lot, zenrain!
Keeping a brain offline

Hi, I have a brain that I do not want online, even "private". If I do not sync this brain, it will not be sync automatically? Thanks for your help.

Rich reporting

Hi and thank your for your answer, James.

But the result is, for me, not rich enough. I was wondering if my company could buy TheBrain to run knowledge and projects management. For knowledge, it is fine. For project management, it has some real lacks. Imagine you have a meeting and you must print some lists of projects and things to do. You need more information than a simple tabbed lines report. Importance, priority? Deadline? Others tags, dates?

My feature suggestion is about this kind of reports.

Hi

Sorry if this feature is not new, I do not know, but I would like to be able to print complex lists. A little like “copy as tab list”, but with more information, like tags, calendars events, etc.

Print or export it to Excel. The idea is to have a printed list richer than that we can have now.

Problem with Search in web pages
Hi

When I add a wen page in the TheBrain (v7), the search works well, by example if I add this page: http://www.thebrain.com/products/personalbrain/know-more-mind-map/ and I search,  in the brain, organic,  the thought is found, because in teh web page we have "Our own organic Brains". So far so good.

But I have a personnal wiki, not accessible from outside. If I add a page from it, it seems to work, I have a new thought with the right link, and I can open the wiki page from the brain (the link has this form: http://localhost:8080/display/kmsg/2012-04-02+Tests+SG). But the search does not work, it does not find the words inside the page.

Any help?

Thank you

Richard

Etiquettes and tags?
Oh ok, that's clear now, thank you. I did  not use labels, in fact, and it seems it can be useful.

Thanks

Hi Trasi and thanks for your answer.
Thanks, asi123. In fact, Tracy, your solution does not work for me. That I want is to continue tro see, for example, Project 1, and the ToDo, or Done, thoughts, while keeping the Project1 structure. Same thing if I look  at Project 2.

It seems the discussion pointed by asi addresses the problem, but it seems a little complex, slow.

It would be great to add something easy to do, as a feature.

Etiquettes and tags?
Ah ok, that's the types. Thanks

Hi

I am not sure it is possible, and if it is not, it could be a great addition.

Let's say I have a thought, T1, with children, some have the tag "done", some have the the tag "to do". What I would like is to have a fast and easy way to select T1 and to show only the children who have a tag "to do", by example.

Not only selecting them, but to show only them, not those with "done" tag. The idea is to keep all the done tasks under a project; but not to look a screen with a big cluster of tasks, done and no done.

Thanks

Richard

Etiquettes and tags?
Hi

In the French version, in the advanced search window, I can select tags, Etiquettes...

Now, "tag" is an English word, and "Etiquettes" would be the correct translation. It is confusing to see the both words, and it seems only "tags" can return results. So, what is "Etiquettes" ? A new feature of PB 7?

Simple question Pro and Free edition
Hi

Is that possible for someone who owns a free edition to open attached files?

Thank you

Richard
