Java vulnerabilities, and how to use thebrain without Java RTE?
Thanks Steeph and zoner.

I already disabled Java from the browsers, but I still have my concerns. I will be looking how Oracle handles the Java vulnerabilities in the near future.

A Tab for "Contacts", like the one The Brain has for "Calendar", with CSV import capabilities.
Dear FransJehoul and zenrain,

Thoughts are random and depends mainly on parents in a hierarchical way structure from a main thought, dates are sequential in an endless time stream.

Calendar is very convenient since all the appointments can be seen in one place, according the way time flows, and time frame available in a day, week, month year and they are connected to their respective thought and with the reminder. So we can have a panoramic view window of a scarce recourse, "time". How can you visualize and manage all your appointments and tasks spread all over the plex with "date related information/functions available in the plex", can you please explain this?

With the Contacts database I could do searches by various criteria and do also sort via captions and with customized fields. I can mark for example pending, followup, etc. I normally do a scan of all contacts in an orderly manner to search for specific information like: last date I called them, last product sold, last maintenance, etc. And I can use the centralized Contacts table to call them one by one in sequence, ordered by name, company, by type of product or service, even by thought and to do sales calls very fast, or send them a template email with variables. Again with the Contacts table I can have a wide panoramic view or a narrow view of a section of my Contacts table filtered by one or more criteria. Can you please explain how to do this in an organized, systematic, effective and fast way, with let say 500 contacts spread all over the plex?, can this be done, with this effectiveness, with your structured meta data proposed? I appreciate your enlightenment and procedure?

Thank you

Please develop a tab for "Contacts", like the one The Brain has for "Calendar", where we can have the possibility to connect each and any contact to any and/or many thoughts in The Personal Brain.

So we can have the contact data structured in a database way with the possibility to order Ascending or Descending by any of the contact fields, clicking over the field title, and also to do queries to the Contacts table. Also with the vital feature to import all my contacts from my actual PIM into PB from a CSV file.

Thanks

How to import all my PIM contacts into PB from a CSV file?
Thanks zenrain for the information, nice Knowledge Base, but the xml format is not simple, there is a lot of work to prepare that file. I will see what can I do, meanwhile I proposed the "Contacts Tab"

How to import all my PIM contacts into PB from a CSV file?
jbennett wrote: Joejac,
Thanks for posting.  Importing csv files is not officially supported.  However, we do support xml and outlines.  If you can get your information into Excel, you may be able to reformat it for importing into TheBrain.  You might also be able to import the .csv into Outlook and add it to TheBrain from there.

1.- Thanks a lot James, I use Linux, I will get the CSV into LibreOffice 3.5 Calc, I wonder if you can provide a link to the xml format. I use Gmail for my 5 email personal accounts and I get them either with Gmail or Claws mail IMAP client, which is very nice, but I do not think I can copy anything from Claws Mail to The Personal Brain, right?

2.- Another question, What would be more convenient to have, all my contacts in a single Note in text format, one line per Contact with all fields in the line, under a thought "Contacts" or almost 500 thoughts, one per contact?.

2.1 I have noticed that "Notes" tab crashes TheBrain if I copy an HTML document of more than 6 or 8 pages. I begin to miss my PIM, unfortunately that PIM is very limited in mind mapping capabilities, and it lacks the great functions that The Brain has.

3.- Why don't you develop a tab for "Contacts", like the one The Brain has for "Calendar", where we can have the possibility to connect each and any contact to any and/or many thoughts in The Personal Brain, so we can have the contact data structured in a database way with the possibility to order Ascending or Descending by any of the contact fields, clicking over the field title, and also to do queries to the Contacts table.

4.- Please let me know if this "Contact" tab is among the future development plans of The Personal Brain, and an estimated time frame.

So my question:

Does TheBrain Technologies allows this software to be installed via Synaptic package manager?
Hello, this question is for TheBrain Staff.

The Linux distribution that I use requires that all packages has to be installed via Synaptic package manager, otherwise the stability of the Operating System would be compromised.

Nobody in the forum of that Linux distro wants to answer questions related to programs installed without Synaptic, they say the Operating System was rendered unstable, the question is:

Does TheBrain Technologies allows this software to be installed via Synaptic or any other package manager?

I ask this because I would like to propose this nice software to be included in the package manager of the Linux Distribution that I use.

If the answer is yes, please provide a link to download the appropriated file for Synaptic installation.

Thank you very much.

I have a public Brain but Clouds Services says it is private, Why?
Hello Matt

I was traveling, sorry for my delay to answer. Yes please, change to public, that brain is a test.

I know the following question is off topic but I want to take the chance you are an admin and might know the answer to the following question:

The Linux distribution that I use requires that all packages has to be installed via Synaptic package manager, no exception, otherwise the stability of the Operating System could be compromised, the question is:

Does TheBrain Technologies allows this software to be installed via Synaptic or any other package manager?

I ask this because I would like to propose this nice software to be included in the package manager of the Linux Distribution that I use.

I have a public Brain but Clouds Services says it is private, Why?
Hello,
I created a test brain, is public, I synchronized it with the Brain Cloud Services and when I tried to opened I got:

                "Problem Encountered

This Brain is set to private visibility but you no longer have premium services. To re-enable access, you must subscribe to premium services or set this Brain to public visibility."

Which is not true, that Brain file is public.

Any idea about the problem?

Thanks pthompson,

I am planning to purchase a new Android Tablet (either Samsung, Acer or Asus), so do you have an estimate of when the Android Brain native application would be available?

Full functionality on Androids Tablet PC?

Hello pthompson

What I would like to do is to run The Brain 7 inside the tablet, there are now tablets with 2 processors and 32 GB, I do not like to use any web service for my files, I always use my files in my personal computer and I do my backups every week. I will not use the webBrain web service.

It is possible to run The Brain 7 inside the tablet, to Create and Edit my Brain files inside the tablet?

Thanks a lot

I tried to use WebBrain on an Android Tablet with Honeycomb 3.2 in a shop nearby. Same result, you can only browse through the brain and have a look.. :-(

Hello pthompson and thanks for your fast reply

I wonder if I will be able to edit, create Thoughs and Notes and search them, it is possible now?

Sorry but I am talking about The Brain 7 stand alone, not the webBrain, should I open another post, so not to mix the questions?

Thanks and regards
