Reports Area - Change Size or Group Results (#4179)
Vicki,

Thanks for posting.  I'll document these feature requests.

unlink selection unlinks from which thought? (#4180)
Christian,

Thank you for pointing this out. The Selection box is always referencing the current active Thought when using the link/unlink features, not a thought that you might be hovering over.  So Unlinking the selected thoughts will unlink from A in this scenario.

Thank you,
Matt

TB9 requires admin rights in order to be installed properly (#4166)
Roger,

Thank you for the update and your patience and persistence!  Good to hear that TheBrain has been installed.  I'll document your regular user request for further review.

Renaming Attachments (#4152, #4167)
David,

Going back to the original problem:

Quote: When an attachment is renamed, it syncs back the attachment with the old name, so you have the same attachment with both the old and new names.

I have not been able to replicate this until I tried a similar process to what you mentioned:

Quote:  I would drag the attachment out of the brain on to the desktop

I THEN renamed and brought it back into TheBrain.  Of course, this treated the file like a new attachment and when syncing, 2 attachments are now being seen on the one Thought.  This would be proper behavior.

If i'm missing something and you have further information on this issue, please let me know.

I did replicate the 'no error message' when changing a second attachment to the same file name.  This has been documented.

Thank you,
Matt Caton

Gerardo,

Understood.  Thank you for taking the time to detail this scenario and I'll do my best to replicate and review.

Feature Request: set link type on thought (!) creation
Zen,

Correct.  I understand it that way in my head, if not in text [smile]  Clarified in documentation.

Renaming Attachments (#4152, #4167)
David,

Thank you for posting.  I'm documenting issue number 2 with renaming an attachment to an existing file name.  However, I was unable to replicate the first issue of TheBrain syncing the original file.  I'll continue testing and trying to replicate.  Can you provide further instructions on how/when you saw this?  File type, OS, syncing on the same machine or multiple, etc.  Also, did you change the attachment name using the pencil icon in the app or via another method?

Thank you,
Matt

Gerardo,

Do you have this type of scenario present on any of your current Thoughts?  A screenshot of this in TheBrain would be helpful for us to review/evaluate.

Thank you,
Matt
TheBrain 9 on Chromebooks?
One of the main differences in version 9 will be that the iOS and Android apps will allow you to download a local copy of your Brain.  This way you can work off line and sync when you are ready and/or back on WiFi. Visiting the web client will keep you in the on-line version.  More details to come when the web client is ready for testing.

Thanks,
Matt
Feature Request: rename pin command
Gerardo,

The Label option is a great workaround for long names, but I have verified that the long pin name request (and opposite "abbreviated" pin names) has been documented.

Thank you,
Matt
Program don't start
c1n1k,

Thanks for posting and sorry to hear that the install didn't go well for you.  Was this a first time installation, or were you updating to a new build? Do you see a TheBrain.exe in C:\Program Files (x86)\TheBrain\TheBrain 9? And does this file launch TheBrain for you?  Also, can you take a look in C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\TheBrain\Logs to see if there is an Output.log file for us to review?

Thank you,
Matt Caton
