Windows only?! You must be kiddin' right?

Why do you even bother claiming that the product is multi-platform? And why charge the same price regardless?
Suggestion: right click drag/drop move file to Thought Folder
You can do so by holding alt+command (on Mac) while d&d the file.
Feature Request: overview window
Harlan wrote: I'm curious to know - how often are you all using the expanded view? 10%-25% of the time? 25-50%? More than 50%?

I've been using the expanded view a couple of times to manage a reorganization that involved many distant thoughts in various reaches of my brain. The expanded view was extremely useful for this purpose. But the rest of the time I prefer the 'normal' view.
Disappointing notes tool
Ok, I've been trying to come to grips with the new notes functionality, but I can't stand it anymore. Let's be blunt, the current notes widget is:
- highly unresponsive: it e.g. several seconds before I can start typing in the notes of a newly created thought
- has a horrid look and feel (read very windowzy)
- has a ugly default style sheet
- it's not cross-platform (which shows e.g. in the fact the the copy shortcut is ctrl-c, which only makes sense in a windows world, it's in fact quit a feat to be so platform specific in Java...)
- it's language handling / localization is messed up
- lacks many of the basic things even the default OS X editor has to offer

I think back in say 1996 it would have made a great notes editor, but it is way behind contemporary offerings (at least on Mac). Honestly, it does not do PersonalBrain any good. The plex is so visionary, it has always been like 25 years ahead of everything else (in particular windows explorer and finder), but the accompanying notes tools have not been up to par. Please consider an alternative. This EditLive! (which I think you're using) thing is simply not good enough for PersonalBrain! Please pull the notes up to the next level, or at least offer something that is at least as good was what our OSs provide by default these days, such as the default OS X Cocoa text editor, which offers all that a decent contemporary notes tools has to offer and more, and which is way better than the current notes tool in PB.
bug in title text-field in Props. & Attach.

I thought it was already quit annoying that the text in the title text-field in the Props. & Attach. pane is right-alligned instead of simply left-alligned like any normal text, now the cursor also has a liking for the right side... i.e. after each action, be it typing a character or pasting some text, the cursor jumps to the right side end of the the text-field. For now one can edit the title normally in the rename field (the F2 thing).

system: OS X, PB
past thought list wierdness
I do not see that happening here (Mac OS X, PB
small annoying bug
I use PB in "vertical orientation" mode, i.e. the notes panes is on the right side of the window. As reported before, some of the icons of the notes pane might be hidden if one makes this pane "too small". However, making it sufficiently wide simply consumes too much screen estate, so I typically make it less wide. Sometimes however, I like to use the "insert date" button. To do so I have to make the pane wider to show that button. The bug is that after this the pane is "stuck" on some minimal width. I.e. I can make it ever more wide, but I cannot make it less wide again. This minimal width seems the be the width required to show all buttons.

The solution I found so far is to switch to horizontal and then back to vertical.
Mass selecting thoughts and Properties manipulation
I created a new test brain and played around in it for a short while, and indeed, link type changing is indeed significantly faster than in my main brian. In PB. when using my main brain I only see a "link map dirty flags cleared" line in the output.log for each link type change. I will test under PB. again later this weekend.
Icon problems
I had to restart again, and now the "weirdness" lasted longer, much longer, and the output.log file is now a whopping 142.8MB.
Icon problems
Just installed and I had that "strange" temporary problem again. This happened after simply launching the new PB which opened my regular brain.

edit: this happens each time I start PB

In my output.log I'm seeing first:

The plex display is all messed up for a period, during which these exceptions are added to the output.log. Then everything goes back to normal and my output.log is a massive 3.2 MB.
Icon problems
Does your output.log tell anything?
Icon problems
Over here everything now seems to be ok regarding the icons after installing and rebuilding the cache, except for a brief period in which the plex acted strange, i.e. some or all thoughts were not drawn but were there as far as they could be clicked etc, the search field was reduced to a flickering white square, etc. And then, all of the sudden, everything went back to normal.
Mass selecting thoughts and Properties manipulation
When I change the type of a link, i.e. right-mouse click the link and select type from Link Type menu in context menu, then it takes 1-2 seconds to show the new color etc. During this brief period, which involves disk access, the PB interface is locked, i.e. nothing can be selected nor changed, the active thought indicator stops turning, etc.

PB: v4.0.4.4
OS: X 10.4.9 [up to date]
Java: 1.5.0_07 [up to date version from Apple]
Mass selecting thoughts and Properties manipulation
Ok, I understand the optimization for reading. The problem is actually more that while this "processing" takes place, the interface is locked. Perhaps it might be possible to perform this processing/persisting in a separate thread so that the interface is immediately available for subsequent manipulation of other links/thoughts.
Memory consumption in idle mode
PB: v4.0.4.4
OS: X 10.4.9 [up to date]
CPU: 2 GHz Intel Core Duo
Mem: 2 GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM
Java: 1.5.0_07 [up to date version from Apple]

I'm using the standard Activity Monitor in OS X to monitor the CPU usage.

PB consistently takes 8-10%. Note that the maximum is 200%, which means both cores are 100%.

I have other Java apps which take 0% in idle mode, so Java is not the culprit.
