TB Likes Sparrow Mail, Apple Mail not So Much
James, thank you for the reply. I will certainly send the output logs to support. I have been trying to get this to work on two machines without success.

As far as the vcard issue the search solution is awkward and quite time consuming, sometimes even impossible. I have been attempting to add my boss's contact information. I have several thousand emails from him. The search for his name has taken over 20min and still no success. It bogs down my computer and raises my blood pressure (not a good thing for my brain). I have suggested in the past this method should not be accepted as a good solution. At least have an option that would limit the search to contacts.

I understand the issue with a vCard dragged to desktop then to brain. A bad solution is just to click review duplicates and you will see the contact information. Not elegant but sure beats waiting for a never ending search to finish.

All of this then begs the question of contacts and email being links that are broken when the brain is used on other computers. I have attempted to use the "copy to brain" with interesting results. Sometimes two links show up on the non originating computer, strange no?

I can appreciate that you are a fan of TB as am I. But the lack of quality development and concern on the mac side is disappointing and frustrating. Today the tool tips still have PC named key strokes. I spent a lot of time communicating with Harlin back in the PB 5 days. I am a licensed pro user. If this was a mac developed program much of this would have been resolved years ago. A am not complaining just to complaint. I love this program. I just want to have a quick and smooth workflow that does not involve time consuming workarounds. Everytime I begin to use TB in a serious way for something mission critical I get bogged down.

I am sure that the PC base for the brain is much larger than the mac, however it should be noted that in my conversations with other IT friends at large companies they are now being required to support macs, iPads and iPhones. How great would it be to have TB on an iPad?

Thanks for listening,

Steve

Patrick, I appreciate your reply but I have been over this numerous times. I assure you I highlight the email in the column list and then drag. No luck. I highlight the email it's self and still no cigar. I am not new at this mac thing. I have seen the video of the operation pre Lion and it is not working for me as well as others. I am able to drag an email to a folder and then into TB but not from mail.

The search workaround is not a good solution for contacts or mail. It is awkward and time consuming sometimes returning thousands of hits necessitating scrolling through many pages. Perhaps a filter to just get hits from contacts would help.

Also I did find an interesting workaround for contacts. If you select a contact in AB and click share you get an email with the vcard as an attachment. You can drag the attachment into TB. IT WORKS. Alternately you can drag a contact to a folder and then drag it into TB.

I still have not be able to get drag and drop of Apple Mail to work. I have tried it on a different machine and it is still a no go. In trying to find a workaround I tried dragging a message from Sparrow Mail and it was accepted by TB. Unfortunately the title seems to be the file number not the subject line and opening it in TB is problematical (sometimes yes and sometimes no). Interestingly it is listed as internal in TB.

Brain people please fix the mail problem for us. It mars what is otherwise a great product.

Version 7.0.2.8 – Release Candidate
James, sorry I posted this reply on another post by mistake.

Still not working for me. I have tried both dragging a single message from the message list as well as highlighting (blue frame around) and dragging the message from the header region. In both cases I get the mail icon and "+" with the drag however when I drop it over the plex it bounces back to mail. I am on 10.7.3, iBook Pro.

What do you mean by "The message will not attach in PB unless you have first selected it."?

According to Harlan's notes drag and drop of email was fixed. This is still not working for me.

An open post from a mac user - Problems once again with adding contacts and mail
I am very familiar with the search function. It is not a substitute for being able to select a specific email or contact and add it to a brain. I just did a search for an email.... it froze pb for 5min and returned over 40,000 hits. 40,000!

This kind of reply is just what I was referring to in my previous post. You would like to spin the facts. For years that search function never worked correctly on previous versions. Now you have a video showing the ability to drag and drop contacts and email. It does not work on Lion.

PB mac development or lack of development is not a new issue on this forum. What would be refreshing would be some honest, upfront answers.

An open post from a mac user - Problems once again with adding contacts and mail
I am a registered Brain pro 5.xx user. I stopped using PB due to the lack of support and development for the Mac version. The problems with not being able to add contacts and email just did not make it a useful tool. I do love the concept but again the lack of care and development for the mac is regrettable.

Recently I took another look since I have a very complicated project that PB would be useful for. Ahh there is a new version that supports drag and drop so you say. But alas it is fiction at least on Lion.

So here I am again wanting to use your product. Willing to yet again pay for a new version that supports a function that the previous version that I have should have, but once again it is a no go. Harlan, if you do not want us mac people why have a mac version. I say this with respect because we (at least I) want to love PB. It would be helpful to give us an honest assessment of what mac users can expect from you.

Thank you,

Search for addressbook not working
It appears that searching addressbook in PB 5.5.1.6 Beta  on the mac is not working. I am not getting any results returned for the addressbook.
