Another set of fixes. FYI, there remain several unresolved issues that have not be fixed in this release - please don't repost "still happens in 5.5.0.4" unless it's something that we said we fixed.

Version 5.5.0.4-b

September 1, 2009

·         Fixes

o    Fixed: Application hangs occasionally, especially when coming out of auto-hide mode

o    Fixed: Shows wrong name in undo list when creating event

Thanks Harlan for the update.

If you would be kind enough to include a list of unresolved issues along with your "Fixes", then we would know what not to complain about.

Maybe if it's a long list, include it as PDF file that those of us who are interested can download, same as you did the Release Notes for 5.0.0.0. Could save a lot of people a lot of time.

Yes a list of unresolved issues would indeed be welcome.

Some posts in the beta forum get responses from the Brain team others don't. So we don't even know if you are aware of the issues you haven't responded to.

Access to some kind of Bugtracker would be great too:

Harlan, this release seems to have fixed an issue I reported on Linux whereby moving files into the brain wasn't working, thanks.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your feedback re: the bug tracking process. Unfortunately it would take a lot of extra time for us to put together a list of known issues for each release. If there is a known new issue that is fairly major, we will include it in the release notes. Otherwise, keep in mind that the reason why a beta release is not the general release is because there are known and unknown issues to be expected.

FYI, we are considering making our internal tracking system publicly accessible, but at this time it is not feasible.

Until then, please understand that each new release cannot include fixes for all issues reported prior. Some bugs are easy to fix and can be done quickly, others are complex and/or can't be reproduced easily. Finally, as with any project, there are always competing priorities and finite resources.

Regards,
-Harlan

Great news, thanks!

It's encouraging to see that this is still being considered, but the same was said back in 2007, so we're no further ahead.
