PB has started asking for which program to use when opening documents in doc format. This does not happen for xls or other formats. This was also the case in 5028, but worked in previous version. I have updated the settings in DefaultUnixProperties, but to no avail.

I fixed this by entering "soffice" as the first entry for opening doc files in the ~/PersonalBrain/res/DefaultUnixCommands.Properties file.

Moe
jostber, thanks for the post. I will ask our engineers to add this entry to the DefaultUnixCommands.properties file.

Best regards,
Moe

Thanks, Moe.

Please also note these 2 other Linux issues. One is open and one is solved.

Funny thing is that I cannot locate this file (as super user) "DefaultUnixCommands.Properties, in either

/opt/PersonalBrain/res

or

/home/timothys/.PersonalBrain/ (no res sub folder present)

Have you checked in your ~/PersonalBrain/res folder if it's there?

I have a ~/.PersonalBrain folder (hidden) in my home directory, but not  ~/PersonalBrain.

>timothys@suse:~> cd ~/PersonalBrain

also, "locate PersonalBrain/res/DefaultUnixCommands.Properties" as super user returns nothing.

Could you try to install PB as user to check if that works?

I wonder if this is because I haven't bothered to upgrade past 5.0.3.2. Perhaps the file is present in later releases?

What do you get as output if you run:

locate DefaultUnixCommands.Properties

and

locate PersonalBrain | grep -i res

and

#locate PersonalBrain | grep -i .Properties
/opt/PersonalBrain/lang/pblang.properties
/opt/PersonalBrain/lang/pblang_es.properties
/opt/PersonalBrain/res/converter.properties
/opt/PersonalBrain/res/export/res/images/icons/properties.gif

You might try to install the new version 5037 as user and see if that gives you the file?

Thanks, but no. Version 5.0.1.2 has been working fine. (I've seen that the newer versions has some bumps and hiccups). I'm waiting for some major new functionality to upgrade to.
