Preference 'Behavior > Activate last created Thought' is set.
Nevertheless, when a new thought is created via drag and drop of a file, e.g. from Finder, to TheBrain, this new thought is NOT activated.

Yup. Same on Windows.
Part of the issue might be that at least on Windows dragging and dropping doesn't actually make TheBrain the active Window. The active Window in my example is still the explorer.
Arguably it says "upon creation" and that might be meant to not include "upon linking/copying/moving/inserting website". If that's the case it should be easily apparent in the settingsmenu, though.
Maybe add a little questionmark with an outgoing link at the very least, like for Behaviour>Other>"Touches should be treated like..."

How to use TheBrain 11 fast (work in progress)

I was able to reproduce the issue and have written it up as a bug report.
Thanks for sharing this with us, I will update this thread as I receive more information.
