Hi

I have been unable to view certain brains on the web for sometime now with both my computers, specifically the ones on the http://www.thebrain.com site and the http://www.kurzweilAI.net site as per images.

When i check the properties for the URL of the empty information panels, for the brain site i get "http://www.thebrain.com/loading.htm" and the KurzweilAI site i have "http://www.kurzweilai.net/brain/Blank.htm". It is as if both hang at the holding pages and changing the active thought has no effect.

The brain plex's are working fine, just not connecting to anything. Since it's happening on both computers it must be some setting i have that is blocking the data, but i haven't spotted what yet.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the help.

Jim

I like the new natrificial website, has a bright, fresh look about it. The plex looks a lot more part of the webpage which is nice. Most importantly i can see the related content below the plex!

One recommendation if you want to present a real seamless experience, i suggest a fade in / fade out for each content pane to coincide with the timing of the plex movement from one thought to another. That way the whole process looks related rather that the current almost sequencial behaviour (new thought in plex then half second later jump to new thought page). Would also look 5 times better too!

Now i just hope the kurzweilai.net team upgrade so i can see their stuff. Also Jerry's brain kept loading but with no content in the plex (unless i should have waited longer than 15 minutes).

cheers

Jim

yesterday I was noticing some funny behavior that I haven't had time to document till now. this seems like a reasonable place to start.

First, with Jerry's site:
http://sociate.thebrain.com/brainekp/

using the above URL brings me to a log in prompt. If I use the following URL:
http://sociate.thebrain.com/brainekp/open.jsp
I am brought to the public presentation of the site. However, this appended /open.jsp quickly disappears while the page updates, and the address URL resolves to:
http://sociate.thebrain.com/brainekp.

It took me a few attempts to get back to the public pages from my bookmarks, as I had not noticed the switcheroo after I clicked on the link published at http://www.thebrain.com/#-54, and I had bookmarked the resolved URL, not the .../open.jsp gateway. I suspect this might cause a few people to go astray.

Second. When I clicked through to Jerry's site using Konqueror, the site fell into a loop, repeatedly re-loading BrainEKP. BrainEKP is loading... Applet tbApplet started... x Images of 14 loaded... BrainEKP is loading... I am reproducing this behavior as I write this. Mozilla Firefox properly loads the page.

Third. Yesterday, In all of Konqueror, Firefox 2.0.0.2pre, and Opera 9. , the PB tutorials were loading blank white boarderless windows without content. This seems to be fixed today. Perhaps I just needed to re-boot.

You might have better luck with http://sociate.thebrain.com/brainekp/open.jsp

Currently, I'm not having much luck (but I'm running linux), but the link above is saying "BrainEKP is loading...

66033 Thoughts "

So, good luck.
