2nd Laptop 1920x1080 at 175% scaling:

In Windows 10 I can easily assign a window a quarter of the screen using windows+arrow. I'm showing that off for the file explorer.
Then I'm showing that TB11 doesn't do it, which is very sad.

https://www.loom.com/share/67acf84412284c18abef70ce139a3ed8

After having shown that off, I tried to explain, why this working right is so very necessary, but I didn't get very far.
I didn't feel like being terribly coherent then.
As a windows-user this I was like a fish who was trying to explain to himself the apparent absence of water.
Window management is an essential part of the Windows OS. It's right there in the name.

Looking into this further, it seems that quartering works with 100% scaling and then progressively breaks the more you scale it.
The video shows the feature being completely broken at 175% already.

It seems to be the case that a TB-window needs a minimum height in pixels. And thatt with scaling there's fewer pixels available.
And a quarter of FHD-screen does not have enough vertical pixels if scaled at 175%.

Perhaps lower the vertical minimum? Why is there a minimum anyway?

Hi David,

I can't confirm this, but I would imagine the vertical minimum is in place to make for a decently usable user experience. It even appears that in your videos, if you had attempted to reduce the window height any more than already is shown on the screen, it would make The Brain very impractical to use. I'm a bit confused here on why you would want to be able to do this to The Brain window.

Let me know.
Thanks
-Nick

The Plex and font have their individual scaling settings making a quad layout even on my 7 inch display usable:usable.jpg

IAt 200% scaling (which is necessary since this is a Touch-heavy device for other programs) it becomes unusuable because the UI makes up a Third of each Window. But I'm already asking for the UI to be made largely invisible.

But I'm already asking for the UI to be made largely invisible, anyway. If the UI is gone, then there's no point for minimum vertical height.
Besides, what's the point of enforcing it? If it's unusable I will not use it. If it is, I will not.
Why let me find that out for myself?

Is there a way to get TheBrain to scale at 100% whilst the rest of the system only scales at 200%? That would also solve my problem.

David,

I will go ahead and write this up as a feature request, that is, to remove the minimum height requirement on TheBrain window. Let me know if I'm missing anything.
Thanks

Sounds good to me. Doubt anyone would complain if it's missing.
