Wow, this has been requested so often, by so many, over such a long time.  We have also requested the possibility of showing a second row of pins, because there is also room for that.  For some reason this has fallen on deaf ears, time after time.   @Juan will add you to the list of people that he will contact when that is implemented, and when the ice age starts again. 

One work around for this would be to Pin a Thought Tag so that you could collect a group of important thoughts that would typically all be pins (and take up a lot of valuable pin space) and just have a single pin (called Hot Topics for example) that takes you to all thoughts in the plex that are hot topics.  This process cleans up the pin bar and still gives you quick access to large groups of thoughts.

 

I know the second row request has been made in the past, but I believe the full screen wide bar might be new.  Regardless, I'll add your requests to the documentation on this topic for further review.

As I'm documenting the request I realize that the full screen wide bar may be tricky in that sometimes the content area (notes) are below/above the plex depending on user preference.  None the less... request for more pin real estate is received.

I would prefer to show a second row of pins, as we have a wide pin bar with Plex Only View. If we had a wide pin bar with Plex and Note View, some extra space would be needed for the Note Toolbar. Maybe some scrolling on mouse hover (or clicking on "<" or ">") could also be a good solution when the pins do not fit. 

The challenge with extending the pin row full width is that this row would need to be moved above the plex since the current display allows:

> the plex to display full width, or

> the content area to display full width. (This also allows the entire content area to be extracted into a separate window.)

Not that this would be a complete deal killer. It is just that it would be a substantial change to the current display.
