Edit>Copy suppresses Thought>Delete if it's executed right afterward.
What I want to do is copy a Thought, delete the same Thought, switch tabs, paste the Thought.
If you pause at 2:19 in the video you can confirm that I did this all in the right order.

Lest you say that I'm doing those operations at ludicrous, unrealistic speeds, I will counter that in everyday life
the operation of "cut" which is usually ctrl+x in Windows text-editing or for file-moving is even faster with just one keystroke.
[same for command-x on a Mac]

Oh.... just realized that if I do "Thought>paste as NEW Thought" it will still have all the OLD links on it.
Why does it work like that? That's just the same as doing "Thought>Create Child Thought" then!

Well.... so I guess this is not a bug, just extremely undesirable behaviour.
So in order to put a Thought from my Inbox to somewhere else int he brain:
Activate Thought, that I would want to move.
Then click up-arrow, do the shortcut for Link>unlink, wait a couple of seconds before TheBrain figures out,
where the focus-highlighter should be and THEN I'm able to press ctrl+c, ctrl+delete and look for a new home via the search function
and navigation.

So each item in my inbox, that I want to put somewhere else has to be handled with lots of scene changes on the Plex.
I suppose I could use the "open Thought in new window"-command, open a new window for each item in my Inbox, do the up-arrow>unlink process in each window and I still have the original window to get back to my original list.

Argh.... why is this so difficult?! I've got forty Thoughts in my inbox. That was my inbox for Tuesday. I haven't even bothered adding the Thoughts for Wednesday yet, cause I can't figure out how to do the organization-step in a timely manner 🙁

A big problem is still the Link>Unlink which after every execution turns my Focus-highlighter red and unmovable for several seconds.

So an efficient way to get Thought A disconnected from the "Inbox"-Thought and connected to Parent C somewhere else in the Brain:
Part A:
-----------------------
highlight Thought
ctrl+c
ctrl+tab
ctrl+s to a (close) place
explore around and perhaps add some structure
find or create the new parent
Thought>Paste as new Thought

Part B:
-----------------------
select Thought A again
down arrow to Thought A
Enter to activate Thought A
up-arrow to select a parent | if the selected parent is the "Inbox"-Thought, do Link>Unlink, else press right-arrow and do Link>Unlink
ignore the highlighter spazzing out and hit ctrl+shift+tab
Repeat forty times.

I'm reasonably happy with that, but it felt like I had to think way to hard about this whole operation and that I'm still doing a lot of useless crap,
because TheBrain insists on being in my way.

Or I could just do Part A forty times, then simply delete "Inbox" and create the Thought again.
That's much faster. And way, way too brainy for doing a basic operation.

So I think I solved my problem, but this is just not how it should work.

So I think I solved my problem, but this is just not how it should work.
Why is the simple act of "refiling" so complex?

EDIT:
Nope, I just pasted a Thought to a new parent and then renamed it. And then there was the new version and the old version both connected to the "Inbox".
Even though if I don't rename it, there's not two Thoughts with the same name connected to "Inbox".
So I'm too confused for this right now. I'll try going thru my Inbox tomorrow, again 🙁

all the above was on 40.
Just saw the changelog for 41.
Is
(#5281) Notes: Links to thoughts in a copied/duplicated Thought do not work
this related?
