Let us know how many brains you use regularly (more than once a month). Please don't count brains that you create just for testing purposes. Thanks for your input.

I am using three brains on a regular base. One is my standard private primary brain, a profesional brain (work related) and a collection brain (tasting notes for whisky [biggrin])

I use two (very large) brains daily and two others maybe weekly or bi-weekly.

Anybody else care to share their brain count? It would be great to get some more feedback...

Please answer the poll question at the top of this topic. Thanks again!

Beside my personal brain (organic), I use the following brains (data huddles):
  • personal (work, private, who, when, what, where) 70 GB, 80'000 thoughts, 16'000 links, 37'000 internal file attachments
  • image meta data (slides), under construction, 1 GB, 7'000 thoughts (in the end: > 110'000 thoughts), 27'000 links, 5'000 external (!) file attachments, fast-growing
  • documents (mainly correspondence), 50 GB, 27'000 thoughts, 62'000 links, 24'000 internal file attachments
  • meta (overview about software, hardware, data) 9 MB, 135 thoughts, 300 links, 45 file attachments
  • coding library, 2 GB, 5'000 thoughts, 9'000 links, 1'000 file attachments
  • CD library (backups etc.), 1.25 GB, 700 thoughts, 800 links, 500 file attachments
  • newspapers and journals, two brains, (PDF versions of periodicals), 250 GB, 10'000 thoughts, 15'000 links, 900 internal file attachments
I miss sadly a "date" or "date/time" thought type ... [wink]

I use 1 brain regularly. It contains everything. I used to keep two, one private and one public, but ended up scrapping the latter so I didn't need to decide which brain to put things in. I've tried a number of other multiple-brain scenarios but ultimately found that having everything in a single brain gets me the most benefits.

I used to have 2 brains; one general and one for academic research, writing etc. During the last year or so, I noticed more and more overlap between topics in one brain and the other. So I merged my brains to one large(r) brain.
