I'm not sure if the statistics are wrong, or the display during a rebuild of the index is wrong.

I am rebuilding the index and it shows indexing xxxx of 8029 thoughts.
But if I look at the statistics, it shows I have 5,136 thoughts.

A possibly related symptom:  I ran a report of orphans and have quite a few shown. That is quite strange because I have a pretty strict categorization and I try to make every new thought a child of something. A number of the orphans are duplicates created on the same day in succession, e.g. the name John Doe repeated 8 times with ID's of 1129, 1130, etc. in a row. They are true orphans, and are duplicates of an entry made the same date/time. The actual entry is, in fact, an orphan.

Here is a screen shot of the "real" entry and the orphans. This was done after I attached the real entry to a parent and "forgot" the orphans, then deleted all orphans. These reappeared.

Anyone have an idea of what is happening?  Are these related or different issues?

This will need confirmation from folks at TheBrain, but indexing statistics maybe treating all items as thoughts (including Tags, Types, and Calendar Events), while statistics and reports does not consider these items towards the thought count.
