zenrain, in my case it is not code snippets and not war and peace
It is the missing vertical space between simple paragraphs that sometimes happens and sometimes not.
And the copy & empty paste from note to some windows applications including some browser dialogs.
And no global search & replace across notes.
And - what I learnt yesterday - no second source for reading or maybe editing the content of the CLOB.
But I agree, I won't halt development of Brain, since I have some more wishes and pain about brain. :-)

... Furthermore I think TheBrain is unique

Will we get any comments from the PB team on this?

Moe, thanks for the good news.

And can you tell us when 5.1 is likely to be released (to the nearest year)?

PB Team: I think some of us would like to know when 5.1 will be released, or get a hint? At least me.

I have a hunch it will. My greatest concern is if it will come out before v.6.

I wonder if 5.1 will be mainly a release that fixes a lot of bugs, or if it will also have several important new features?

Well, then I guess I just have to keep it shut and just wait.

From past experience I guess it is safe to assume that a "first-decimal release" would also bring "significant" new stuff with it, whereas "2nd/3d demical releases" are mainly used for fixes

Thanks for your input; Mbaas, suppose we just have to wait patiently for this unknown date.

There is one thing that I really like about PB Notes Editor.

When you copy and paste text and images from the browser, one thing it works, you can paste images, but the good part is that it automatically downloads the images and stores in the brain.

What I noticed that the external Internet references are kept in the HTML note till that is broken and not found, it can happen if you are disconnected from the Internet. At that point when the image is not found in the Internet, the HTML text is automatically updated linking the internally stored images as reference.

This is a nice behaviour showing that PB is doing some self repairing actions, as needed. And it also shows that Notes Editor is integrated with PB.

Because it is integrated, it would be easy to add a feature (Link from Note text to a Thought) I described at:

http://forums.thebrain.com/post?id=3519285

Those features would be harder to have with an external Note Editor.

Why don't you let the user choose it's own note texteditor with a plugin ?
Ckeditor 5 is a great solution to this problem and let the user add features to it if he's wanted to.

Hy everibody,

Editors

Every person has his own idea about the subjects or objects he wants to elaborate and describe.

Therefore there is not one editor which can do it all simultaneousely.

It could be splendid if each user at it's own could choose one or more editors which best suits to the things he wants to deploy.

it's annoying to like everything about a program but a certain way something is (not) implemented.

Although with ckeditor this could be possible !

In the Brain preferences, the ui tab, one could activate one new option-list with "specialized editors" where the needed editors could be suggest (components). The user simply checks the wanted editors. If the software requires a payment for use it, one could be redericted first to the due application shop.

In the note area, the choosen specialized editors could then appears in several tabs, next to the actual "notes" editor.

When the "specialized" editing is done, one could centralized with copy-paste all the work in the actual notes.
