Months ago I requested a short-cut for 'insert date & time' as I use this everytime I add something to a note. It wasn't urgent as I could always, when the notes pane was selected, use Alt+I+up-arrow. This no longer works, so I have to revert to the mouse each time. Most irritating.

Is this just a linux issue?

Sorry Jim, the mnemonics for the editor menus were disable since they caused conflicts with other things. We're looking into possible workarounds for a future release.

Thanks Harlan. That's a real shame, but if 'paste' etc still work as ctrl+v, can't things like insert just have different mnemonics?

Whilst on the subject of the paste function, I rarely, if ever use 'normal' paste, instead using 'paste special...' > 'plain text', because otherwise pasted text never suits. For me certainly it would be extremely useful to have a toggle in preferences (like for the new 'show icons when notes are present') which would be something like 'always Paste As plain text.'

Does anyone else think this this would be good?

I concur.  I paste using the paste special > plain text 99% of the time.  It would be great if there was an option for setting a default paste type.

I also concur - letting the user choose their default is a nice idea. Also, it would be great if right-clicking had "Paste Special..." in addition to the existing "Paste" option.

I also agree, but unfortunately this is not something that we can do easily, just like we can't setup a keyboard shortcut for inserting dates easily because the editor is a third party component that we don't have direct control over.

Mmm. Very unfortunate. These items make a big difference to the useability of the notes pane (and if you need telling), and would make it much more marketable, I'm sure.

Thanks for getting back to us anyhow, if you want us to petition the 'third party', we'd be more than happy to do so!

I keep thinking that there should be an open-source solution for this component requirement. Any developers listening?
