There is a quite common metaphor for one-way links from electrical engineering: the diodes symbol: >|

Using it, would be just a small change and give a lot more people an intuitive understanding what the symbol means.

Thanks for the suggestion. As a student of electrical engineering I am familiar with a diode and its symbol, however, I think it would be a little bit more confusing for most users if we used >| instead of the symbol, |>

Our reasoning is that most people can associate the symbol |> with the meaning that the flow can only go to the right and not left.

Nonetheless, I will bring this suggestion to the attention of our developers. Thanks.
