I almost never use File Links. In one section of my Brain i use a lot of file attachments in the brain.

Do people have preferences or use cases on when to use which?

Thanks,

Rob.

Very big, shared or very important -> file or folderlinks
the rest -> internal Attachments

Internal Attachments are quite convenient if you know some tricks.

The shared-folder with each family member and for the whole family is on the OneDrive.
No other way there.
Large video files can quickly make your Brain be tens of Gb large.
Or hundreds. That would be impossible to download over Wifi.
And would take quite a while with ethernet still.
My password database is filelinked.
TheBrain takes very long to download itself completely and if I install fresh I need access to my passwords immediately.
OneDrive is better for that, as it lets me immediately download it.

Thanks for the thoughts!

I am not doing videos, mostly PDF so the size has not been too bad.

@Rob2050

@DavidGretzschel's advice is solid. Downloading a big TB database can take a long time. I follow a similar practice except I use Evernote to store my PDFs. That way I can use EN's ability to OCR PDFs for search purposes.
