I have been using the semicolon when creating new thoughts quite often.  Most of the time this is when creating multiple children thoughts, which very often need to be set to the same thought type.  It would save several clicks if after creating multiple thoughts using the semicolon, these new thoughts were automatically added to the selection.  Thought type could be set and the selection window closed in two clicks instead of the having to click on all of the new thoughts individually.

I second that - for other operations on sets of 'bulk introduced' thoughts as well -
assignment of commone add'l parent/jump thought is what I need to do quite frequently
