I'm trying out PB 5.0.2.6 on OS X 10.5.6.  I created the tutorial brain, saved it, and searched Spotlight for "experiments".

All Spotlight finds is the IndexBuilder.log file.

I have a sinking feeling that the much-touted "Spotlight integration" just means you can find Spotlight-indexed files when you're inside PersonalBrain - and not that you can find PersonalBrain thoughts from within Spotlight?

Please tell me that's not true...

Spotlight can search and index files you have attached in PersonalBrain. It won't however, find text on any of the notes, or thought names etc.

This would be a good request though, making PB thoughts and notes visible to spotlight indexing.

Yes, zenrain is correct.  Here is a video that goes through the new features in version 5 http://www.thebrain.com/site/video/2009-01-pb5/ which also touches up on the new Mac features.  Remember you can make feature requests at http://thebrain.uservoice.com .

Best regards,

That's too bad.. to me, that's much more important than being able to index the attachments!  But I guess if you import all your files into the Brain, you wouldn't think so.  (I plan to link them.)

Am I correct that there's no scriptable API except in the EDK version?  I was thinking I could write a script that exported the Brain to XML, and then imported it into Spotlight.  But there's no AppleScript dictionary, and a search for API on this site doesn't reveal anything...
