expected:
I can swap between preference-tabs with ctrl+tab like in any most Windows-programs.
observed:
If multiple Brain-tabs are open, I switch between those instead.
If no brain tabs are open, it behaves exactly like tab behaves.
result:
Normal UI-expectations broken. No convenient way to set preferences without having to use mouse or trackpad when on Laptop *ugh*.

Makes understanding TheBrain more diffcult, because if things move too slow, I'll likely be distracted during the process and wont remember what I was trying to do in the first place.

David,

Thank you for posting. Sorry, but I'm not following your process here.  Ctrl+tab does move you through multiple Brain tabs if/when you have them open. But should have no effect if only a single tab is open.  What are you seeing on your end? If you need to open the Preferences drop down menu, you can click on the Alt key and the P for Options, etc.

Thanks,
Matt

I'm already in the preference menu, guess I should have made that more explicit, sorry.
Getting there is no problem, I can just press "ctrl+,".

It's about what I'm not seeing. On Windows select a file or folder, right-click it, select "properties". You can switch between properties-tabs with ctrl+tab.
True for most Windows programs with options or properties windows. If a Windows program does not do things the Windows-way, it's being a rather "difficult" Windows-program. ("difficult" in the sense of "annoying", "untractable", "stubborn")
As a user of my computer I expect to to do things a certain way and not having to deal with each of many programs I use to have idiosyncratic behaviour.
Also there's a very strong expectation that a program that's meant for any kind of serious work is usable by keyboard alone.
