David,

Interesting discovery.  I think the Preferences window will always have focus when it is open, even if there are multiple Brain tabs.  Still, I'll share with the engineers for further review.

Thanks,
Matt

I was testing different Brain windows, not tabs. Haven't tried this with tabs, though in that case it'd probably be worse.
Now I don't know all possible users, but I doubt anyone is having fun, when being blocked unexpectedly from using the program.

Imagine having four windows open, you opened Preferences in the third window to check something, you get interrupted by a phone call.
The conversation is kinda boring, so you start surfing the web or it isn't and you look up something related to it.
Then you want to create a new Thought, because something interesting came about or you want to look up something relevant to the conversation...
So you activate the first window, try to search.....
and all of a sudden your counterpart asks you with some confusion why you just angrily called him a [censored censored].
I hate having to apologize for all the very bad words that were actually directed at software (but the habit helps me cope).

But even if you want to go the "chain the user to the Settings-Tree, so he doesn't make trouble"-route, it wouldn't be a big deal.
I don't like it, but it's slightly better than the current goofyness.
